Find out where we areOur history is based on the talent and success of our Climaveneta and RC brands. It all began in 1963 with the foundation of RC Group, then with the founding of Climaveneta in 1971 and the numerous technological innovations presented over the years, followed by acquisition by the De'Longhi Group and the subsequent listing on the stock exchange of DeLClima which culminated in the acquisition by Mitsubishi Electric in 2015 and subsequent integration into the Group. Our story continues through continuous innovations and the high quality of our products, which we can guarantee, thanks to the strength of being one of the world’s leaders in air conditioning. In April 2024 MAF (MEHITS Aircalo France) was established, following the acquisition of Aircalo by MEHITS, together with Mitsubishi Electric Europe B.V.
In 1963 RC Group was founded in Pavia. A few years later the company presented its first precision air conditioner.
In 1971 Climaveneta was founded in Bassano del Grappa, Vicenza. The company immediately aimed to develop efficient and silent air conditioning solutions. To achieve this a lot was invested in research and development.
In 1982 Climaveneta presented its first multipurpose unit for 4-pipe plants, called "Energy Raiser".
The 1990s brought many great innovations. In 1990 Climaveneta launched the first chiller with free-cooling technology for process and data center applications. A few years later, in 1994 Climaveneta itself was purchased by the De'Longhi Group, which wanted to integrate its range of residential air conditioners with hydronic solutions for large HVAC plants. Climaveneta was one of the first companies to take part in the Eurovent certification program in Europe.
The 2000s were characterized by an increase of the sales network with the foundation of numerous branches, and an expansion of the range and the solutions offered. In 2001, Climaveneta Deutschland, the German subsidiary, was founded. In the same year, BLACKBOX was launched, a useful tool to plan and optimize service maintenance for installed units. In 2003 a joint venture was signed, which kicked-off the activities of Climaveneta’s Chinese branch and Climaveneta France was founded. The same year Wizard was launched on the market, the first Climaveneta branded AHU and the following year the principles of lean production were introduced to the company. In 2006 De'Longhi bought the majority stake of RC Group, and in the following year started its production of chillers with shell&tube exchangers. The following years saw the launch of residential heat pumps for with the Prana line, the first full inverter chillers, and the openings of Climaveneta branches in Spain, Poland, and India.
In 2011 Climaveneta UK opened its doors as well as the production plant which produces close control units in Shanghai. In DeLClima was founded and listed on the Milan Stock Exchange, a company that combined Climaveneta and RC Group. The following year, IT Cooling unit production began in Bangalore, India. In terms of products, the ClimaPRO plant room management and optimization system, i-FX(1+i) high efficiency full inverter chillers, and the revolutionary close control X-Type with X-coils were launched. In 2015 Mitsubishi Electric acquired the majority stake in DeLclima and the following year a new company Mitsubishi Electric Hydronics & IT Cooling SPA emerged. The process of integrating the two historical brands Climaveneta and RC within the Mitsubishi Electric Group was therefore under way.
Our commitment to energy efficiency and sustainability is still growing. Our products comply with, and often exceed, environmental regulations. We are launching an increasing number of products on the market with the new green and HFO refrigerants, with reduced GWP. We have created and launched the MOTTAINAI environmental campaign, with the aim of reducing our CO₂ emissions by 30% by 2030 and by 80% by 2050. In 2021 we celebrate the 100th anniversary of Mitsubishi Electric’s founding and Climaveneta’s 50th, two milestones the bridge the successes of the past and those that await for us in the future.
Our aim is to "contribute to the realization of a dynamic and sustainable society through continuous technological innovation and constant creativity".
Our commitment is therefore to continue changing for the better, as our motto "Changes for the better" says.
